Meet Our Guest Speaker
John Archibald is a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist for AL.com and an acclaimed podcaster. With nearly 40 years of experience in journalism, John earned the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary in 2018 for his “lyrical and courageous” writing, and was elected to the prestigious Pulitzer Prize Board in 2023.
In addition to his journalistic achievements, John was a 2020-2021 Nieman Fellow at Harvard University and served as the inaugural writer-in-residence at Boston University in 2023. His current projects include a play, an opera, and a podcast focusing on serial bomber Eric Rudolph and the rise of Christian Nationalism.
John is also a proud alumnus of the Boys & Girls Club of Decatur in Northern Alabama, affectionately known as the River City.
