Who We Are

 Opened as The Birmingham Boys Club in 1901, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Alabama has been a force for good in the lives of youth for over a century. With over 122 years of experience in youth development and a team of skilled, caring professionals, we see potential in every child and teen that walks through our doors. We are here to elevate the youth of our community and let them know that they are capable, worthy, and important.

What We Do

Each day, we welcome more than 750 youth between the ages of 6 and 18 to our Clubhouses after school and more than 1,000 youth a day during the summer. As soon as our club members walk through our doors, they enter an environment of stability, consistency, and physical and emotional safety. Each day we build deeply powerful relationships with the youth we serve and open avenues of opportunity for young people across our community. We offer safe places where young people can learn, grow and succeed.

 We provide a quality Club Experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, equipped with the skills needed to have a successful life, and demonstrating good character and citizenship.
