RICK KARLE
With 43 years in broadcast television, Rick Karle has built an esteemed career in sports journalism. He served as Sports Director at WBRC Fox6 for 30 years and later spent four years as a morning show host at WVTM13. His dedication to storytelling and excellence in journalism has earned him over 50 Associated Press awards, 25 Southeast Emmy Awards, and the prestigious National Edward R. Murrow Award. In recognition of his contributions, he also received the Silver Award from the Southeast Emmys in Atlanta. In 2023, Rick was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, solidifying his legacy in sports broadcasting.
Currently, Rick continues to share compelling stories through his writing for AL.com and his "Rick Karle Good News" Facebook page, where he highlights uplifting and inspirational content.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Rick is proud of his family. His wife, Jill, is a family attorney, and together they have two accomplished children: Noah, a 2020 Vanderbilt graduate, and Mia, a 2023 NYU graduate.
